Box Score RICHMOND, Ind. – Hanover dominated Earlham in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon defeating the Quakers, 77-47.
The Blue and Red were led by sophomore
Grace Bezold (Convington, Ind.) with 20 points while sophomore
Katherine Benter (Brownstown, Ind.) turned in 16 points.
Hanover hit the road and dominated early surging to the 10-3 advantage behind Bezold at the free throw line. The Panthers continued on the push as Benter hit a three-pointer to extend difference to the 19-10 at the 2:11 point.
The first quarter push spilled over into the second quarter as the Blue and Red continued on the outburst with Benter hitting a runner in the lane, 25-13. The excitement ensued as senior
Callie Wilder (North Vernon, Ind.) led a surge that pushed the lead to 40-18 at the half.
The second half saw Earlham look to make a run but Benter halted it with a three-pointer at the 8;17 mark. The Hanover explosion contained the Earlham Quakers as Bezold went to work in the paint giving HC the 53-28 lead at the 5:15 point in the third.
Hanover went on to outscore the Quakers in the fourth quarter 15-11 en route to the 77-47 victory.
Hanover returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 8 when they travel to Franklin. Game time is set for 7:00 PM.
