HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover (3-5 overall) men's lacrosse team welcomed non-conference foe Adrian to Alumni Stadium on Sunday afternoon, dropping the contest 19-5.
Hanover was led in the contest by junior
Jackson McKeigue (Olmsted Twp., Ohio) in frame with a game-high 22 saves through 60 minutes of work. Offensively, senior
Dirk Meinhart (Elizabethtown, Ky.) led the charge with a goal and two helpers.
Adrian came out firing as they rattled off five straight goals before the Panthers responded. Freshman
Colin O'Brien (Somers, Conn.) delivered the Hanover goal on a man-up opportunity as he took a pass from junior
Cole Finley (Louisa, Va.) at the 4:18 mark in the first quarter, 5-1.
The Bulldogs tacked on five more goals entering the intermission leading 10-1.
However, the second half saw the Panther offense erupt as Meinhart netted a goal at the 14:27 mark. Sophomore
Alex Kleinhelter (Fishers, Ind.) made his way into the scores column at the 7:10 point in the fourth quarter before Finley joined the excitement pulling HC within 18-4.
The final Panther goal came from the stick of junior
Zach Stone (Elizabethtown, Ky.) as Hanover dropped the contest 19-5.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, April 1 when they travel to Trine. Game time is set for 1:00 PM.
