GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The Hanover Panthers (1-5 overall) fell in a non-conference battle on Wednesday evening at DePauw, dropping the match 8-1.
The Blue and Red battled tough as part of doubles action despite being swept 3-0. In no. 1 doubles senior
Jedrek Brodzki (Warsaw, Poland) and freshman
Nicolas Zumba Coronado (Buckhannon, W.V.) competed to an 8-6 match while teammates junior Joel Keal (Louisville, Ky.) and fifth year
Connor Garrison (Louisville, Ky.) fell 8-6.
In singles action, Keal found success as part of the no. 1 match dropping the very competitive matchup 7-6 (7-4), 6-2.
The Panthers lone win came at no. 6 singles as freshman
Ilya Gromochenko (Tucson, Ariz.) won the match in a three set thriller, 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 1-0 (10-8).
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, March 11 when they travel to Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Franklin. First serve is set for 2:30 PM.
