HANOVER, Ind. – Hanover (10-2 overall, 1-1 HCAC) split their Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opener on Sunday afternoon with Manchester as they celebrated Senior Day. Hanover dropped game one 7-2 before capturing game two 10-2.
GAME ONE
Manchester surged ahead in game one plating three runs on four hits in the top of the third inning for the 3-0 lead.
Hanover responded in the bottom of the fifth inning with sophomore
Mallorie Fultz (Greenfield, Ind.) charting the team's first RBI. Freshman
Sydnie Raisor (Campbellsburg, Ky.) added the innings final run as she singled to center field scoring senior
Kensie Bradley, 3-2.
Manchester blew the game wide open in the top of the seventh inning plating four runs en route to the 7-2 victory.
Sophomore
Lauren Beaman (Indianapolis, Ind.) got the start in the circle throwing six and two third innings.
GAME TWO
Hanover surged ahead in the nightcap using a two run first inning. Freshman
Cadence Northern (Jeffersonville, Ind.) led the charge as she singled to center field plating sophomore
Dani Steward (Shelbyville, Ind.) and Raisor, 2-0.
The Panthers added a series of insurance runs in the bottom of the second inning with Raisor singling to right field followed by a Steward RBI, 5-0.
Manchester added two runs in the top of the fourth inning but Hanover was able to retire the side. The Blue and Red tacked on two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning before securing the win in the bottom of the fifth inning. 10-2.
Hanover returns to action on Thursday, April 6 when they welcome Bluffton. Game time is set for 3:00 PM.
