Box Score LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Panthers (7-7 overall, 4-0 HCLC) concluded the regular season on Friday evening with a dominating victory over Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference opponent Spalding, 21-8.
Hanover saw six individuals with multiple goals paced by sophomore
Owen Parker (O'Fallon, Mo.) with a game-high five goals and seven combined points.
The Blue and Red scored early and often as sophomore
Alex Kleinhelter (Fishers, Ind.) netted the first blow before a 6-1 Hanover outburst propelled them on top 7-1. During the stretch, sophomore
Owen Parker (O'Fallon, Mo.) added two strikes while Kleinhelter completed the hat trick.
The scoring frenzy ensued midway through the second frame with Parker adding his third goal at the 9:25 mark giving HC the 8-2 lead.
Junior
Zach Stone (Elizabethtown, Ky.) became the fifth Panther to enter the scores column in the first half as Hanover entered the intermission leading 9-2.
The second half saw HC extend their difference as freshman
Colin O'Brien (Somers, Conn.) and junior
Nick Adams (Greenwood, Ind.) delt back-to-back goals giving Hanover the 11-2 advantage with 12:37 to play in the third quarter.
Spalding halted the charge at the 8:06 mark pulling within 11-3 when Hanover tacked on four more goals to enter the final period leading 15-3.
The final frame would see the Blue and Red add five more strikes for the dominating 21-8 victory.
Hanover returns to action on Friday, April 28 at 1:00 PM when they host Southwestern University as part of the semifinal round of the HCLC Tournament.
