HANOVER, Ind. – The Panthers (2-8 overall, 2-2 HCAC) welcomed Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opponent Transylvania to Alumni Stadium on Wednesday afternoon, falling to the Pioneers 27-5.
Hanover was led in the contest by junior Masi Mcnally-Henriksen (Zionsville, Ind.) with a team-high two goals on five shot attempts. In frame, freshman
Marissa Bardo (Indianapolis, Ind.) added a game-high nine saves through 60 complete minutes of action.
After falling behind 12-0 in the first period, junior
Katie Comer (Indianapolis, Ind.) responded for the Panthers. Comer put HC on the scoreboard at the 12:09 point in the second quarter, 12-1.
The attack on net ensued for the Blue and Red as junior
Taylor McNally-Henriksen (Zionsville, Ind.) added her first goal minutes later before Masi propelled Hanover into the intermission trailing 16-3.
However, Transylvania continued to be all gas pushing the difference to 20-4 in the third frame when freshman
Abby Mensing (Parker, Co.) netted her first strike.
The Pioneers recorded the final seven goals en route to the 27-5 victory.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, April 29 when they conclude regular season action with Anderson. Draw control is set for 1:00 PM.
