Box Score HANOVER, Ind. – The Panthers (2-8 overall, 2—2 HCAC) concluded the regular season on Saturday afternoon as they welcomed Anderson to Alumni Stadium. Hanover dropped the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference heartbreaker, 12-11.
Anderson pushed ahead in the opening frame 2-0 when Hanover answered. Junior
Masi McNally-Henriksen (Zionsville, Ind.) provided the goal at the 5:51 mark to the cut the difference to 2-1.
Senior
Katie Comer (Indianapolis, Ind.) made her way into the scores column just seconds into the second quarter as she pulled HC within 3-2.
The Ravens refused to be tamed adding a pair of back-to-back blows that helped propel them in front 5-2 when Masi picked up the hat trick. The junior netted three first half blows to cut the deficit to 6-5 at the half.
Hanover finished with 10 shots, eight of which landed on frame.
The second half saw the Blue and Red rally using four straight goals to claim the 9-6 advantage. The surge was paced by Masi and Comer when junior
Taylor McNally-Henriksen (Zionsville, Ind.) netted her first goal of the afternoon.
Anderson looked to flip the script in the final frame pulling within 9-8 when Masi charted her fifth goal of the contest at the 11:35 mark, 10-8.
However, the Ravens would eventually flip the script using five goals in the fourth quarter to knot the contest at 11-11 before netting the game winning strike at the 4:01 mark to secure the HCAC win.
The Panthers return to action on Wednesday, May 3 when they compete as part of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament.
