NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. – The Hanover men's tennis team advanced to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Championship defeating Anderson 5-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The Blue and Red opened the semifinal match with a sweep of doubles action. The no. 3 doubles team of freshman
Abhay Singh (Ambala, India) and junior
Rodolfo Jacome (Guayas, Ecuador) claimed the Panthers first win of the afternoon taking the match 8-3.
Junior
Joey Keal (Louisville, Ky.) and junior
Charley Williams (Jeffersonville, Ind.) won no. 2 doubles 8-2 before the no. 1 doubles team of senior
Jedrek Brodzki (Warsaw, Poland) and fifth year
Connor Garrison (Louisville, Ky.) completed the sweep 8-5.
In singles action, Brodzki pushed HC out front 4-0 winning his no. 2 singles match 6-0, 6-4.
The match advancing victory came at no. 1 singles with Keal winning 6-1, 6-2.
Hanover returns to action on Sunday when they compete as part of the HCAC Tournament Championship taking on the winner of Rose-Hulman and Transylvania.
