LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Panthers (1-0 overall) ran past Centre on Friday afternoon defeating the Colonels 2-0 as part of the Spalding Tournament.
Hanover was paced in the contest by sophomore
Patricio Campos (Cdmx, Mexico) and junior
Scott Zehnder (Louisville, Ky.) with one goal apiece. In frame, senior
Luciano Salemi (Indianapolis, Ind.) added two saves and a clean sheet.
The Panthers netted the first strike as Campos took a pass from senior
Coghlin Kumler (Louisville, Ky.) in the 19
th minute for the 1-0 advantage.
Hanover tacked on an insurance goal in the 56
th minute as Zehnder propelled HC to the 2-0 victory.
Despite being out shot 11-7, the Panthers landed a game-high three shots on frame.
Hanover returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 3 when they take on Tournament host Spalding at 7:30 PM.
