Box Score WILMORE, Ky. – The Panthers (1-0 overall) dominated Asbury 5-0 as part of their 2023 season opener on Friday evening.
Hanover was paced in the contest by junior
Beth Cook (Goshen, Ind.) with a game-high three goals on 10 combined shots. Sophomore
Lauren Rainbolt (Carmel, Ind.) and freshman
Ally Byrd (Pewee Valley, Ky.) added one goal apiece.
Cook scored early and often for the Panthers as she connected with junior
Kate Bettner (Noblesville, Ind.) in the 15
th minute for the 1-0 advantage.
The junior added two more first half strikes propelling Hanover to the 3-0 halftime lead.
The second half saw Rainbolt and freshman
Cam Horsley (Mooresville, Ind.) connect in the 65
th minute pushing the difference to 4-0.
The final Panther goal came in the 77
th minute as Byrd netted an assist from sophomore
Morgan Castiglione (Fishers, Ind.) for the 5-0 victory.
In frame, senior
Maggie Hinegardner (Fort Thomas, Ky.) picked up the victory with 65 minutes of action.
Hanover returns to the pitch on Sunday, Sept. 3 welcoming Wittenberg to Alumni Stadium as part of their home opener.
