HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover men's Tennis team picked up a 7-2 victory on Saturday afternoon, defeating Johnson University- Tennessee.
In doubles action, senior
Joey Keal (Louisville, Ky.) and freshman
Ashley Hunter (Manchester United Kingdom of Great Britian) claimed no. 1 doubles 8-4 while teammates, senior
Gustavo Assumpcao (Lagoa Santa, Brazil) and junior Charlie Willaims (Jeffersonville, Ind.) took no. 2 doubles 8-1.
With a 2-1 advantage entering singles play, Keal claimed his second victory of the afternoon. The senior captured no. 1 singles 6-2, 6-2.
Assumpcao went 2-0 on the contest winning no. 3 singles in a tie breaker set.
At no. 4 singles, Castillo claimed the victory while
Pedro Macedo captured no. 5 singles 6-2, 6-3.
Wrapping up the match was sophomore
Ilya Gromochenko (Tucson, Ariz.) claiming no. 6 singles in dominate fashion, 6-0, 6-0.
