DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Panthers (4-6 overall, 0-1 HCAC) dropped their first Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference road test on Saturday, falling to the Yellow Jackets 3-2.
Hanover tallied a game-high 21 shots, 12 of which landed on frame. Leading the surge was sophomore
Patricio Campos (Cdmx, Mexico) with a team-high four shots.
After finding themselves trailing 2-0, the Panther offense came to life. Freshman
John Azzara (Louisville, Ky.) netted the first goal for the Panthers as he played a pass from junior
Charlie Hubert (Burlington, Ky.), 2-1.
The game tying blow came in the 59
th minute as Campos found the back of the net, 2-2.
However, Defiance got the final say netting the game winner in the 87
th minute, 3-2.
Hanover returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at Transylvania. Game time is set for 7:00 PM.
