FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Panthers (10-6 overall, 6-3 HCAC) dropped a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference road test on Wednesday evening at area rival Franklin, 72-67.
Hanover landed two in double figure led by junior
Coleman Sater (Ellettsville, Ind.) with a team-high 15 points while senior
Ty Houston (Union, Ky.) netted 13 points.
The Panthers found themselves locked in a battle from the opening tip-off. Franklin was able to capture the 14-10 advantage midway through the frame when senior
Brice Gilman (Clinton, Ind.) hit a runner in the paint that knotted the score.
The first half saw the Grizzlies largest lead reach eight points with 6:38 remaining when freshman
William Herald (Fort Thomas, Ky.) led a brief comeback. The first year was able to help propel HC into the intermission trailing just 28-27.
The second half would see HC flip the script as Houston landed a three-pointer with 7:44 to play putting them in front 49-46. However, Franklin got the final say using efficient shooting down the stretch to secure the HCAC win.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 20 when they host Earlham inside Collier Arena. Game time is set for 1:00 PM.
