Box Score Hanover, IN - The Hanover College Panthers hosted the Franklin College Grizzlies this afternoon in their final contest of the 2024 regular season.

The opening ten minutes of this conference match-up were fast-paced as HC pushed the tempo along both sidelines, reversing fields and possessing the ball well early. By the fourteen minute mark, the Panthers had already put up 8 shots (6 on goal), 2 corners, and scored their first goal after fifth-year forward Callen Johnson (assist) connected with senior forward Beth Cook (goal).

Hanover continued their dominance through the rest of the half - HC tallied a whopping 19 shots in the half, with 12 on cage, and saw 6 attempts from corner. The score remained stagnant at 1-0 however, leaving the Grizzlies feeling hopeful and the Panthers unsatisfied with their lead.

As the second period of play got underway there was a visible increase in the physicality of play, but the Panthers maintained their poise as well as their ability to control time of possession. The Hanover attack felt inevitable as time passed and the ladies added 5 more shots to their already monstrous volume.

Deeper into the second, around the seventy-four minute mark, Hanover would score their second goal when freshman midfielder Izzy Phillips collected a cross from freshman forward Emma Gill and put it past the Grizzlies goalkeeper. The Panthers now lead 2-0 with just over fifteen minutes remaining in the game.

Determined to win this game while leaving no room for interpretation, Hanover insisted on keeping up with their relentless attacking approach. HC's discipline and conditioning would ultimately prove to be to much, wearing down the FC defense until senior forward Beth Cook claimed her second goal of the contest (15th this season), putting Hanover up 3-0.

Time expired with the final score 3-0, Panthers over Grizzlies. This marks Hanover's 6th conference win of the year and 11th win overall for the 2024 regular season.
