Hanover, IN - The Hanover College mens soccer team hosted Bluffton University today in a conference match-up during Hanover's annual homecoming weekend!
Playing with a renewed sense of urgency after back-to-back losses, the Panthers played hard from the very first whistle. Senior forward
Patricio Campos would make sure to capitalize early off of a ball put in play by sophomore forward
Miles McMillen and was able to beat the keeper for his third goal of the season, and McMillen's first assist of the year.
Now, after just six minutes of play, the Panthers lead 1-0. The remainder of the first half was a defensive battle as both teams went scoreless the rest of the way.
The second half followed a very similar script as HC found another early goal. This time, it was freshman
Jacob Tyler assisting freshman forward
Andrew Pavlisko to take the lead at 2-0. Much like the first-half of play, the rest of the second was all defense despite Hanover being able to generate 17 total shots throughout the half (19 all game), forcing the Bluffton goalkeeper to work for his 7 saves.
HC went on to win the contest at 2-0, making the 1-1-0 now in conference play. The Panthers will return to action on Wednesday October 9th in Terre Haute, IN as they take on Rose-Hulman (4-4-2, 2-0-0). The match is set to begin at 3:30PM EST, just before the womens teams will faceoff.
