The Panther Defense Domiantes in Win at Defiance

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Hanover Panthers hit the road for non-conference action at Defiance, defeating the Yellow Jackets 31-7.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Senior Mason Williams (Fort Mitchell, Ky.) led the Panthers offensively with 85 yards receiving and a touchdown. Sophomore Eian Roudebush (New Palestine, Ind.) under center threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns.

Defensively, senior Jamey Deckard (Bedford, Ind.) tallied a team-high 10 stops with a tackle for loss and one breakup.

Senior Noah Caswell (Madison, Ind.) added five stops and a sack for 19 yards while forcing a fumble.

Sophomore Clint Hearne (Madison, Ind.) had an impressive day on special teams going 4-for-4 on extra point attempts and a field goal.

PLAY-BY-PLAY
After an early game hiccup that saw Defiance strike first, the Panthers responded in a big way.

Hearne provided the first points for the Blue and Red as the sophomore kicker connected for a 33-yard field goal that pulled Hanover within 7-3. The field goal capped an eight-play 59-yard drive that lasted just over four minutes.

The Panthers added another second-quarter score as the defense stepped up in a major way. Caswell forced a Yellow Jacket fumble at the Defiance one yard line which was recovered by senior David Wall (Sellersburg, Ind.) in the endzone, 10-7.

The second half saw Williams tally his first touchdown of the afternoon capping a six-play 55-yard drive. Roudebush found Williams for a 22-yard hookup pushing the Panther difference to 17-7.

The offense continued to be all gas as senior Eric Roudebush (New Palestine, Ind.) made a trip to the endzone following a four-yard catch and score just moments into the fourth quarter, 24-7.

The final Hanover touchdown came on a quarterback keeper. Eian Roudebush used some nifty foot work scrambling for 10-yards and the game's final touchdown.

Hanover returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 16 when they head to Franklin for the playing of the 94th Victory Bell Game.
