HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover Panthers (15-9 overall, 11-6 HCAC) celebrated senior night Tuesday evening welcoming Anderson to Collier Arena. The Panthers dropped the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match-up to the regular season champions, 94-75.
Hanover was led in the contest by senior
Ty Houston (Union, Ky.) with a team-high 20 points and six assists.
Most of the Panthers early success came from inside the lane as senior
Matt Munoz (Indianapolis, Ind.) was able to use some fancy footwork putting Hanover in front 11-6. However, the Ravens flipped the script in their favor at the 11:49 point using an 8-0 run for the 14-11 lead.
Freshman
William Herald (Fort Thomas, Ky.) and senior
Brice Gilman (Clinton, Ind.) found open looks from three-point that slowly pulled momentum back in favor of the Blue and Red. But Anderson continued to use their transition offense to cling to a 38-32 advantage. Hanover was able to cut the difference to 44-39 at the intermission.
However, the Anderson offense was red hot in the second half from three-point using a trio of triples for the commanding 80-58 advantage. The Ravens never looked back as shooting woes saw HC surrender the contest on senior night.
Hanover returns to action on Friday, Feb. 16 with a trip to Mount St. Joseph and the potential no. three seed on the line. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
