DEMOREST, Ga. – The Panther baseball team (1-1 overall) took on Piedmont on Saturday afternoon dropping the contest 10-2.
ON THE MOUND
Senior
Marcus Goodpaster (Indianapolis, Ind.) got the start on the bump throwing 5.2 innings with six strikeouts.
AT THE DISH
Sophomore
Robert Carroll (Hendersonville, Tenn.) led the Panthers at the plate with three hits and one RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Hanover scored the game's first run in the top of the first inning following an RBI by senior
Eric Roudebush (New Palestine, Ind.), 1-0.
Piedmont responded with one run in the bottom half of the inning before adding four runs in the second inning and one run in the fourth inning, 6-1.
They extend their lead in the sixth inning with three runs before Hanover plate their final run in the top of the ninth. Carroll provided the RBI despite still surrendering the contest 10-2.
Hanover returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 25 when they take on Randolph-Macon as part of the Piedmont Invite. Game time is set for 10:00 AM.
