ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Hanover (0-2 overall) hit the road for their season opener at Webster. The Panthers dropped game one 9-1 and fell in game two 8-6.
GAME ONE

Lauren Beaman (Indianapolis, Ind.) got the call in the circle throwing four complete innings with five strikeouts and four hits.
AT THE DISH
Junior
Alex Miller (Miamisburg, Ohio) led the Panthers at the plate charting one hit on two at-bats with a homerun!
HOW IT HAPPENED
Webster used a four run first inning and a one run fifth inning to claim the 5-0 advantage.
However, Miller looked to spoil the party as she homered to center field pulling HC within 5-1. But Webster secured the game one victory plating four runs in the bottom half of the inning, 9-1.
GAME TWO

Freshman
Rylin Huddleston (Seymour, Ind.) got the start in the circle throwing 6.2 innings with four strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Hanover struck first in the contest as freshman
Sophie Markowizc (Greenwood, Ind.) went yard in the top of the second for the 1-0 lead.
However, Webster was able to find the equalizer in the fourth inning with a single through the middle of the infield, 1-1.
They tacked on three more runs in the fifth inning, including a homerun to center field, to help propel them to the 4-1 advantage.
The Panthers responded using a four run sixth inning to reclaim the 5-4 lead. Leading the surge was junior
Mal Fultz (Greenfield, Ind.) with a two RBI to left field before an RBI by sophomore
Jade Wims (Indianapolis, Ind.).
But Webster got the final say forcing extra innings to claim the 8-6 victory.
Hanover returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 25 when they take on Washington U. St. Louis. Game time is set for 2:00 PM EST.
