ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. – Hanover (5-11 overall) spit the final day of the Pioneer Classic defeating Asbury 4-3 falling to Trine 14-5.
GAME ONE

Lauren Beaman pitched a complete game collecting the win. Beaman recorded six strikeouts and allowed just three walks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Hanover surged ahead in the first inning as junior
Carson Kruse (Fort Branch, Ind.) reached base on an error that scored Planck, 1-0.
Sophomore
Cadence Northern (Jeffersonville, Ind.) added the RBI in the third inning using a sacrifice fly to push the Hanover difference to 2-0.
Asbury claimed the 3-2 lead in the fourth inning before freshman
LauRie Harmless (Coatesville, Ind.) singled in the fifth inning to knot the score 3-3. Hanover reclaimed the advantage off the bat of freshman
Haley Kiefner (Indianapolis, Ind.) en route to the 4-3 win.
GAME TWO
IN THE CIRCLE
Junior
Dani Steward (Shelbyville, Ind.) pitched two complete innings with a strikeout moving to 0-5 overall on the season.
AT THE DISH
Sophomore
Jade Wims (Indianapolis, Ind.) led Hanover at the dish going 1-for-2 with two RBI. Kruse went 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Trine blew the contest out of reach in the third inning as they plated seven runs for the 12-2 difference. The fourth inning saw Wims and junior
Mal Fultz (Greenfield, Ind.) both collect an RBI to pull HC within 12-5.
But Trine got the final say adding two runs in the fifth inning en route to the 14-5 win.
Hanover returns to action on Friday, March 22 at Centre. First pitch is slated for 4:00 PM.
