DANVILLE, Ky. – The Panthers (5-13 overall) dropped a twin bill on Friday evening at Centre, surrendering game one 6-1 before falling in game two 9-1.
 
GAME ONE
IN THE CIRCLE
Junior Lauren Beaman (Indianapolis, Ind.) pitched an impressive game in the circle throwing five and two thirds inning with six strikeouts.
 
AT THE DISH
Beaman collected the lone RBI as the junior went 2-for-3. Freshman Olivia Planck (Lexington, Ky.) went 1-for-3 with a run scored.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Beaman scored the game's first run in the top of the third inning as she singled to the right side, 1-0.
 
However, Centre remained patient finding momentum in the sixth inning scoring six runs on four hits.
 
GAME TWO
IN THE CIRCLE
Junior Dani Steward (Shelbyville, Ind.) got the call to the circle throwing two and two thirds inning allowing seven hits.
AT THE DISH
Planck recorded the lone Panther run going 1-for-3 with a run scored.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Hanover once again struck first in the top of the first inning as Planck recorded the RBI on a passed ball, 1-0.
 
But in the bottom half of the inning, Centre exploded offensively plating five runs, 5-1.
 
They added two insurance runs in the third inning before plating two more runs in the fourth inning for the 9-1 decision.
 
Hanover returns to action on Sunday, March 24 when they welcome Wilmington for their home opener. Game time is set for 1:00 PM.
