HANOVER, Ind. – Hanover (3-7 overall) played a tough non-conference game with the Hornets of Kalamazoo on Wednesday afternoon, dropping the offensive battle 12-5.
Hanover tallied 25 shots paced by junior
Owen Parker (O'Fallon, Mo.) with a team-high six attempts. In frame, junior
Lance Guttormson (West Bend, Wis.) turned in an impressive performance with a game-high 22 saves. The 22 saves mark the second contest in a row HC has charted 20 plus stops.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers recorded their first strike at the 11:45 point in the first period as sophomore
Ethan Abdoo (Bloomington, Ind.) collected the blow, 1-0.
However, Kalamazoo responded with nine straight goals to push their lead to 9-1.
Hanover's final first half strike came from the stick of sophomore
Colin O'Brien (Somers, Conn.).
The second half saw the Blue and Red add three more goals. O'Brien netted the first attempt while junior
Alex Kleinhelter (Fishers, Ind.) and junior
Scott Dues (Louisville, Ky.) scored in man down situations.
Hanover returns to action on Friday, March 29 when they welcome Trine to Alumni Stadium. Game time is set for 3:00 PM.
