GRANVILLE, Ind. – Hanover (31-17 overall) saw their season come to an end on Saturday evening as they fell to Rowan 14-7.
The trip to the NCAA Regional marks the first for the Blue and Red as they picked up their first win defeating Millikin 4-3.
The Panthers surged ahead in the bottom of the first inning 1-0 before using a two run second inning, led by sophomore
Robert Carroll (Hendersonville, Tenn.), for the 3-0 advantage.
However, Rowan responded using a big fourth inning to claim the 6-4 lead.
Hanover added runs in the sixth inning as senior
Alex Christie (Greenwood, Ind.) singled down the line before senior
Eric Roudebush (New Palestine, Ind.) collected an RBI helping propel HC to a 9-7 deficit.
But Rowan got the final say adding five runs in the seventh inning for the 14-7 victory.
Sophomore
John Girard (Richmond, Ky.) got the start throwing five and a third innings with seven strikeouts.
