Hanover, IN - The Wilmington College Quakers came to town for an early evening match-up against the hometown Hanvoer Panthers.
HC got off to a sluggish start, allowing two goals in the first twenty minutes of play to Wilmington's Jace Houck and Parker Burke. However, Panther freshman
Andrew Pavlisko would give a tremendous individual effort, and put one past the keeper with ten minutes left in the half, sending the Panthers into the break with some momentum despite being down 1-2.
As the second half of play got under way, junior defender
Patricio Campos saw an opportunity to shine and help the Panthers get back in the game. Campos would score, putting one past the Quaker's keeper at the fifty-two minute mark, off an assist from freshman
Andrew Pavlisko.
The Panthers, playing with a renewed swagger, kept on the prowl. Relentless efforts would pay dividends as sophomore
Louan Seveno was able to connect with freshman
Jacob Tyler, making the score 3-2 Hanover.
Nearing the final five minutes of play, tensions on the field were rising. Hanover could taste the win while Wilmington was desperate to tie things up. Fifth-year defender
Clayton Anderson was doing all he could to contest balls near the sideline during the last-minute press by Wilmington. Then, by exhausting everything they had left in the tank, the Quakers attacking unit was able to put one in the back of the net after a chaotic scrum inside the box.
The game end in a tie at 3-3, leaving both teams feeling unsatisfied. Hanover looks to put their struggles to rest and pick up a win on the road at Wabash on Wednesday at 5:00pm EST.
