CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Panthers (11-8 overall, 7-5 HCAC) completed the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference sweep of Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday evening winning the contest 64-53.
The Panther offense was dominant in the first half as a sophomore
William Herald (Fort Thomas, Ky.) picked up where he left off a week ago scoring four straight points to put HC in front 18-17. Hanover followed it up with a 14-0 run that included a freshman
Jack Miller (Madison, Ind.) dunk for the 31-17 difference.
Hanover held MSJ to just 19 points, leaving them scoreless for the final two minutes. Freshman
Jeremiah Alexander (Indianapolis, Ind.) capped the first half scoring for the Blue and Red as they entered the intermission leading 31-19.
Hanover continued to perform offensively as sophomore
CJ Walls (Louisville, Ky.) hit a layup in the paint that saw the lead grow to 38-21. Senior
Coleman Sater (Ellettsville, Ind.) and
Jack Miller combined for a tough one-two punch midway through the frame that pushed the contest nearly out of reach.
The Lions cut the score to 60-53 when senior
Michael Donoho (Rockport, Ind.) slammed the door with a pair of free throws that secured a 64-53 win.
