RICHMOND, Ind. – The Hanover Panthers upset the no. 1 seed Earlham College Quakers on Saturday afternoon as part of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament to advance to the Tournament Finals 3-2 (25-19, 21-25, 29-27, 24-26, 16-14).

Four different Panthers landed in double digits, with senior
Maddie Robertson leading the way. Robertson tallied 19 kills with an impressive .400 hitting percentage. Junior
Abbey McCoy added 18 kills. Senior
Elliot Mays had 14 kills and surpassed the 1,000 career kills' mark. Senior
Kelsey Waggoner added 10 kills.

Megan Vogel had 26 assists, while her counterpart
Brooke Gervers dished out 25 helpers.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Hanover used a late set rally to claim an early 1-0 advantage. Waggoner paced the late set surge at the service line, scoring seven straight points. During the stretch, Robertson and McCoy collected kills.
After surrendering the second set, Hanover regrouped and went on the attack. After finding themselves trailing 7-2, freshman
Brooklyn Borden paced a seven point comeback. Robertson was once again key in the run, collecting a pair of kills. McCoy landed a kill that topped a three point push that saw HC in front 18-16. The Panthers secured the 29-27 victory on a pair of Earlham miscues.
The final set of the afternoon saw Hanover in Championship form. With the score knotted at 14-14 Robertson and McCoy shifted the momentum. The duo was key on the attack to help them secure the five set upset.
Hanover returns to action on Sunday, Nov. 16 when they compete as part of the HCAC Tournament Championship.
