Shelby Leads the Panthers to a Win on Senior Day

HANOVER, Ind. – The Panthers (7-2 overall, 5-0 HCAC) dominated the Cardinals on Otterbein on Saturday, celebrating Senior Day with a 49-8 victory.

The Panthers turned in 568 total yards of offense, 425 yards coming through the air. They held Otterbein to just 128 yards of total offense and just 46 through the air.
 
Junior Eian Roudebush threw for 384 yards and five touchdowns, including a 40 yard hookup with DJ Grinter.
 
Sophomore Blaik Nation dominated the run game, rushing for 79 yards on seven attempts and two touchdowns.
 
Junior Curbrian Shelby burnt the Otterbein secondary, collecting 90 yards on five receptions for three endzone visits.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Hanover exploded in the first half, dominating the Cardinals of Otterbein from the opening coin flip. Just 55 seconds into the game, Nation broke free for a 34-yard touchdown run, capping a quick two-play drive. Senior Clint Hearne added the extra point making it 7-0 Panthers.
 
The Panthers found the end zone again four minutes later when quarterback Roudebush connected with sophomore Jack Pennington for a 10-yard touchdown pass. The two-play 66-yard drive took just 52 seconds, 14-0.
 
With 6:21 remaining, Roudebush found Shelby for a 23-yard touchdown strike, consuming just 2:34 of clock time, 21-0.
 
The Hanover ground game took center stage in the second quarter. Nation punched in his second score of the afternoon, capping a methodical Panther drive, 28-0.
 
Hanover's offensive efficiency continued as freshman Josh Williams added a 9-yard rushing gain early in the quarter, and Roudebush completed a 17-yard pass to Shelby on third-and-16 to keep another drive alive. Nation followed with an 11-yard run, showcasing the Panthers' ability to move the chains on the ground.
 
The Panthers added two more touchdowns before halftime, entering the break with a dominant 38-0 advantage. The Hanover defense held Otterbein scoreless through two quarters, limiting the Cardinals to minimal offensive production.
