MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Hanover (2-0 overall) swept the weekend, defeating Rhodes on Saturday afternoon as part of the Rhodes College Classic, 80-57.

Alexis Wines dominated the weekend, reaching double-digit scoring for the second day in a row. The senior had a game-high 23 points. Senior
Kaitlyn Lorenzi claimed her second double-double of the young season, netting 15 points and pulling down 12 rebounds.
Junior
Sammy Berman added 19 points for the Blue and Red, including a perfect 3-for-3 mark at the free throw line.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Hanover came out red hot as Berman opened the scoring with a jumper in the paint at the 9:25 mark. Rhodes claimed the only lead of the contest moments later on a three-pointer. The aggressive Panther defense established the tone early, surging ahead to a 23-15 first-quarter lead.
After a relatively even second quarter, Hanover exploded in the third period with another 23-point outburst. Wines connected on a three-pointer at 9:31, assisted by senior
Mykayla Moran, pushing the lead to 40-32. Wines continued her hot shooting with a layup at 16 seconds that extended Hanover's advantage to 37-30.
The final frame was all Panthers as they outscored Rhodes 20-11 en route to a convincing 80-57 victory.
