ANDERSON, Ind. – Hanover (6-3 overall, 2-2 HCAC) used an explosive third quarter to take down Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Anderson on Wednesday afternoon, 69-63.

Freshman
Emerson Vlcan dominated her first collegiate start, tallying a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Senior
Alexis Wines claimed her fifth straight double-digit performance tying a game-high 21 points. She also pulled down eight rebounds.
Senior
Kaitlyn Lorenzi picked up a game-high 11 rebounds while senior
Lily Ernstes scored nine points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Hanover used a dominate third-quarter performance to shift momentum into their favor after entering the intermission trailing 35-30. After some critical halftime adjustments, Hanover came out red hot scoring 14 straight points.
Leading the surge was the duo of Wines and Vlcan. The freshman found success in the paint, opening the deep ball for Wines to flip Hanover on top 44-37. The strong shooting ensued as sophomore
Abbie Beard came off the bench, netting her lone two points at the free throw line for a 51-44 difference.
The final frame saw the Panthers dominate the defensive boards, using their transition offense to fuel the comeback. Junior
Sammy Berman hit a midrange jumper before Lorenzi used her sharp shooting skills from three-point to help Hanover reach a double-digit lead, 64-54. The rest was history as Hanover posted a game-high 41 percent shooting percentage, including seven made three-pointers.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 20 and Sunday, Dec. 21 when they compete in the Trine Classic.
