HANOVER, Ind. – Sophomore
Brian Wall collects his fourth post season award, being named a Second Team All-American linebacker by the Associated Press announced Thursday afternoon.
The sophomore racked up several post season honors, being named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year, as well as an AFCA Division III Second Team All-American and First Team D3football.com All-Region.
Wall finished the year with a team-high 75 tackles, 45 of which were solo stops. He had four tackles for a loss for a combined 11 yards and two interceptions as well as two pass breakups.
The linebacker was a key member of a defense that ranked first in the league in fewest touchdowns (23), fewest points allowed (179), and fewest points per game (14.9). Among all of NCAA Division III, the Panthers ranked 13
th in total defense following the regular season, allowing just 251.3 yards per game.
In the team's second round playoff contest against defending National Champions, North Central the Panther defense held the Cardinals to just 10 first half points, the fewest amount of points scored by North Central all season.
Hanover finished the season 9-3 overall and winners of the HCAC Title advancing to the NCAA playoffs for the third time under Head Coach
