Box Score Hanover, IN (Collier Arena)
- The Hanover College women's basketball team hosted Franklin College today as part of a men's and women's double-header. The ladies entered this contest with a 5-1 overall record and 1-0 in HCAC play.
In the first quarter of action the Panthers held a slight edge scoring the ball shooting 8 for 18, and 75% from the free throw line. HC had zero shooting fouls, allowing zero free throws, and held their opponent to 6 of 15 shooting while out rebounding the Grizzlies 11 to 8.
The Grizzlies were able to hold Hanover to zero threes made on three attempts, as well as make three of their seven attempts, but the Panthers still held onto a four point lead at the end of the first.
Hanover kept themselves rolling through the second and dialed in a more effective defensive approach. The Panthers increased their lead to ten leading 33 to 23, and held the Grizzlies to 25% shooting and zero for four from three in the second quarter.
Senior guard
Kaitlyn Lorenzi lead the Panthers in scoring with 14 points, as well as rebounding with six boards, and junior guard
Sammy Berman had eight points and a steal heading into the break.
After the break, the third quarter was the most tightly contested ten minutes of the game so far. HC still had yet to make a three, shooting zero percent again in the third, and 0-11 for the through three quarters. They were still out pacing the Grizzlies in rebounds as well 34 to 25, with 15 offensive rebounds.
Senior guard
Kaitlyn Lorenzi was once again the driving catalyst for the Panthers, putting up 22 points and twelve rebounds helping Hanover to maintain a one point lead heading into the fourth quarter.
The fourth quarter came down to the wire in what was a one point game at the time of the final possession. The game still had yet to see a lead change as the Panthers maintained their advantage through the first half, and narrowly through the third quarter.
In the final seconds of the game, Franklin hit a contested three-pointer with point six seconds left on the clock.

Hanover now sits at 5-2Â on the season and moves to 1-1 in the HCAC. Their next match-up is on the road, Saturday December 13th, at Manchester University. The Panthers will take on the Spartans at 4:00PM.
