HANOVER, Ind. – Hanover (6-12 overall) welcomed non-conference opponent Otterbein to K.T. Young Ballpark on Wednesday afternoon, stumbling in the ninth inning 6-4.

Otterbein claimed the early advantage with a two run first inning.
However, Hanover used patience at the plate, tying the contest 2-2 in the bottom of the third inning. Senior
Sam Perkins (Louisville, Ky.) and senior
Jake Danneman (Edgewood, Ky.) tallied back-to-back singles before a slew of walks plated two Panther runs.
Hanover captured the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. Sophomore
Nickey Gutzwiller (Cincinnati, Ohio) drew a walk before junior
Owen Boyce (Kennesaw, Ga.) singled and sophomore
Wesley Stiller (Greenfield, Ind.) walked, loading the bases. Senior
David Newbanks (New Albany, Ind.) got the call to pinch hit with two outs, delivering a single through the left side that plated two runs.
Otterbein plated one run in the top of the sixth inning and one run in the seventh inning to tie the contest 4-4.
They claimed the lead in the top of the ninth inning, 6-4.
ON THE MOUND
Will Rodriguez got the start for Hanover, throwing four complete innings with five strikeouts. He allowed two runs on three hits.
Senior
Ashton Dickmann (Greenfield, Ind.) pitched relief, moving to 1-2 on the year throwing one inning.
Hanover returns to action on Friday, March 28 when they travel to Mt. St. Joseph for a three game series with the Lions.
