HANOVER, Ind. – The Panthers (4-9 overall) welcomed non-conference opponent Spalding to Kops-Bedel Stadium for their home opener, splitting the doubleheader. Hanover took game one 7-1, while Spalding secured the game two win 9-5.
GAME ONE

Hanover surged ahead in the bottom of the first inning as freshman
Ashley Fulton (Hanover, Ind.) provided a two out double to center. Freshman
Meghan Mader (Indianapolis, Ind.) added another run as she singled to right, scoring Fulton from second, 2-0.
The Panthers blew the contest wide open in the bottom of the third inning. Freshman
Lilly Cunagin (Indianapolis, Ind.) doubled to left field, plating two more runs. Senior
Sydnie Raisor (Campbellsburg, Ky.) added an RBI with a single up the middle, 6-1.
The final Hanover run was scored in the bottom of the fifth off the bat of sophomore
LauRie Harmless (Coatesville, Ind.) , 7-1.

Lauren Beaman (Indianapolis, Ind.) collected the win, throwing a complete game with two strikeouts. She allowed just one run on four hits.
GAME TWO

Hanover found themselves in an uphill battle as part of game two. Plagued by errors, Spalding was able to surge ahead 9-3.
With darkness closing in, Hanover looked to make one final push in the bottom of the sixth inning. Freshman Syndey Foy (Brownsburg, Ind.) singled to right field, sparking a two out rally. Junior
Jade Wims ((Indianapolis, Ind.) delt a single to center field before freshman
Addison Smith (Jeffersonville, Ind.) collected the RBI. However, the Golden Eagles retired the side with a foul out.

Lulu Van Beek (Noblesville, Ind.) got the start, throwing four and two third innings with one strikeout.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, March 29 when they open HCAC action with Bluffton.
