DECATUR, Ill. – The Panthers (3-5 overall) secured a walk-off win against Millikin on Sunday afternoon, splitting the final day of the Millikin Invite.
GAME ONE – MILLIKIN
IN THE CIRCLE
Senior
Lauren Beaman (Indianapolis, Ind.) collected her first win of the 2025 season as she pitched a complete game with two strikeouts. The senior scattered two runs on nine hits, allowing one earned run.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
The contest saw the teams combine for 17 hits with only five runs scored. Hanover drew first blood in the bottom of the second inning as sophomore
Madi Kammer (Indianapolis, Ind.) singled to center field scoring senior
Mal Fultz (Greenfield, Ind.), 1-0.
Millikin tied the contest in the third inning following a Panther error, 1-1.
Freshman
Ashley Fulton (Hanover, Ind.) provided the clutch RBI in the third inning as she doubled to center field plating the go-ahead run.
However, Millikin used small ball to push the game-tying run across the plate in the top of the sixth inning.
After a slow start against the Big Blue's relief pitcher who went six up six down, sophomore
LauRie Harmless (Coatesville, Ind.) decided to call game. Harmless picked up the game-winning RBI with a single to left, 3-2.
GAME TWO – DEPAUW
IN THE CIRCLE
Freshman
Lulu Van Beek (Noblesville, Ind.) got the start for Hanover throwing five complete innings with three strikeouts. She allowed just one walk and three earned runs.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
After falling behind 2-0, Hanover picked up their lone run in the top of the fourth inning.
Mal Fultz collected the RBI with a triple to right center, 2-1.
DePauw scored one run in the fifth inning and six in the bottom of the sixth inning to secure the win.
Hanover returns to action on Wednesday, March 12 when they travel to Spalding to take on Central College. The first pitch is slated for 4:00 PM.
