Men's Lacrosse Falls to Transy in HCLC Championship

Lexington, Ky - Yesterday, the Hanover College Panthers men's lacrosse team traveled to Lexington, KY to compete in the HCLC Championship. The hosts of the tournament, the Transylvania University Pioneers, were 4-0 in regular season conference play, and the Panthers were 3-1 having fallen only to Transy.

The Pios controlled every aspect of the match-up against the Panthers, winning in dominant fashion 26-5. Hanover struggled to compete with the depth of the Pioneers roster and allowed seventy-three total shots through four quarters. Transy also won 24/34 face-offs, and won the groundball battler 38-18.

Hanover's season concludes at 11-4 overall (4-2 in HCLC) with a 6-1 record on the road, and six consecutive road wins (most in program history). The Panthers also finished with seven total All-HCLC nominations including four first-team (senior midfielder Owen Parker, senior goalkeeper Lance Guttormson, senior defenseman Scott Dues, and freshman defenseman Leonard Hughes) and three second-team finishes (senior attackman Alex Kleinhelter, junior attackman Colin O'Brien, and junior attackman Ethan Abdoo), as well as the HCLC DPOY (senior defenseman Scott Dues).
