HANOVER, Ind. – The Panthers (11-19 overall, 7-9 HCAC) kept their post season hopes alive, splitting a doubleheader with Franklin. The Grizzlies won game one 7-2 before Hanover rallied to win game two 6-4.
GAME ONE
AT THE PLATE
Hanover surged ahead 1-0 in the bottom of the second inning as sophomore
Madi Kammer (Indianapolis, Ind.) singled up the middle, scoring senior
Lauren Beaman (Indianapolis, Ind.).
However, Franklin used balanced scoring to push ahead 7-1. Hanover got one run back in the bottom of the seventh inning off the bat of sophomore
LauRie Harmless (Coatesville, Ind.) who tripled to center field.
IN THE CIRCLE
Beaman threw four and two thirds inning with three strikeouts. She scattered five runs on seven hits.
GAME TWO
AT THE PLATE
The Franklin offense remained red hot in game two, surging ahead 4-0 through five complete innings.
Hanover responded with a six run sixth inning. Beaman started the scoring by drawing a bases-loaded walk before freshman
Sydney Foy (Brownsburg, Ind.) singled to right field scoring two more Panther runs. Junior
Jade Wims (Indianapolis, Ind.) collected an RBI when senior
Sydnie Raisor (Campbellsburg, Ky.) pushed Hanover in front with ha double to left field, 6-4.
IN THE CIRCLE
Freshman
Lulu Van Beek (Noblesville, Ind.) got the win in the circle, throwing four innings of relief allowing just one run on four hits.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, May 3 when they travel to Anderson.
