HC Women's Soccer Drops Home Opener to Trine

Hanover, IN - The Hanover College Panthers opened their 2025 campaign at home today against Trine University. HC is coming off a 12-6 2024 season which included an HCAC semi-finals appearance, and Trine finished last year 11-5-3 with an appearance in their conference semi-finals as well. The Panthers are lead by a total of nine seniors, giving the Thunder an edge in the veteran leadership department at thirteen total seniors.

HC contested well against the Thunder through the first thirty-minutes of action. Trine's depth and senior leadership would prove to be a huge factor in their pace of play once fatigue set in on both sides.

The Thunder controlled the middle third of the game, closing the first half and beginning the second with strong offensive possessions that lead to their two goals of the evening.

Despite Hanover being able to match the Thunder's shot volume and putting 6 shots on frame, the Thunder goalkeeper was able maintain her poise, and ultimately lead Trine to a 2-0 victory.

The Panthers aim to bounce back in a quick turn-around, hosting the Wilmington College Quakers this Sunday, August 31st, at 1:00PM EST.

Statistical Standouts for the Panthers from tonight's performance include:
#0 GK - Emma Patterson | 90 mins | 1 SV
#9 MF - Cam Horsley | 90 mins | 4 SH | 2 SOG
#18 MF - Morgan Castiglione | 76 mins | 2 SH | 1 SOG
