WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Panthers (4-2-2 overall) staged a second half comeback to knock-off non-conference foe Wilmington on Sunday afternoon, 4-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Wilmington surged ahead quickly in the opening half, netting goals in the second minute, 14
th minute, and the 40
th minute for what seemed like an impossible hill to climb, 3-0.
However, Hanover remained poised and waited for their opportunities. The first one came as time ran out in the first half with sophomore
Andrew Pavlisko scoring a pass from junior
Quin Trueblood, 3-1.
Seconds into period number two, the Panther attack struck again. Pavlisko continued to be disruptive to the Quaker defense, finding the back of the net again in the 46
th minute, 3-2.
Senior
Carter Marx entered the mix at the 61
st minute mark, tying what appeared to be an almost over game, 3-3.
The game winning blow came in the 81
st minute off the foot of senior
McLain Barber who scored a pass from senior
Matt Burchett.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 27 when they welcome Franklin to the Soccer Complex.
