Hanover, IN - Today, the men's soccer team hosted the Franklin College Grizzlies in their first HCAC match-up of the season; HC entered the contest with at 5-2-2 overall record.
The Panthers controlled every part of the game, all afternoon long. Hanover outpaced the Grizzlies across the board, leading 16-1 in total shot attempts (with 10 on frame), 8-4 in corner kicks, and possessed the ball for 66% of the match.
Hanover's defense didn't allow a single shot on frame, making the lives of senior goalkeeper Rodrigo Guttierez Olvera Gonzalez and freshman goalkeeper
Dugan Webster stress-free for the day.
HC saw five different goal scorers on their six goals, the first two coming from senior forward Particio Campos. The other four goals came from a header by junior defender
Andrew Beck, senior forward
David Snowden, sophomore forward
Nico Gotoh, and senior midfielder
Matt Burchett.
Three of the five goals where assisted by sophomore forward
Andrew Pavlisko (assisted Campos's second goal), freshman defender
David Betz (assisted Beck's goal), and sophomore defender
Grant Doherty (assisted Snowden's goal).
The Panthers move to an impressive 6-2-2 on the season with their 6-0 victory over Franklin, and start 1-0-0 in HCAC play.
Next week, on Saturday October 4th, HC hosts another HCAC opponent, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Kick-off is set for 3:30PM EST at the Hanover College Soccer Complex.
