INSIDE THE STATS
The senior duo of

HOW IT HAPPENED
After surrendering set one, Hanover began to settle in. Leading the charge was freshman
Kinzee Dean, who helped pull HC within 10-9. The Panthers continued to attack with a 7-0 run to close out the set, led by sophomore
Natalie West at the service line, which propelled them to a 25-23 win. Senior
Kelsey Waggoner provided the winning kill.
Despite the set two successes, they were unable to overcome Asbury in set three. The fourth set, much like the third set, saw Asbury surge ahead when a senior
Elliot Mays kill halted the charge. Hanover cut the difference to 18-16 with Waggoner at the service line before Asbury rattled off three straight points. Hanover refused to drop the set as Mays delivered a setting-winning kill, 25-23.
The Panthers were unable to overcome the woes, surrendering set five to the Eagles. Hanover tallied 54 kills in the match, with six coming in the final set.
The Panthers return to action on Friday, Sept. 26 when they head to Bluffton to take on Heidelberg.
