CINCINNATI, Ohio – Hanover (11-8 overall, 5-7 HCAC) struggled offensively on Wednesday evening as they dropped a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest at Mount St. Joseph. The Panthers surrendered the game 69-53.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Freshman
Emerson Vlcan led the Panthers early as she was able to establish a post-game propelling Hanover in front 5-2. However, both teams struggled offensively in the opening frame with the Panthers shooting just 33 percent from the floor, trailing 12-11.
The second quarter saw the Lions extend their lead as a pair of back-to-back three-pointers pushed the difference to 26-18. Wines and Vlcan looked to spark the Panther attack as a layup in the lane, and a pair of free throws pulled HC within 32-23 at the intermission.
Sammy Berman made some noise in the second half sinking a three-pointer at the 4:42 mark capping a five point outburst to pull the Panthers within 42-30. MSJ out scored the Blue and Red 16-9 in the quarter for a 48-34 edge.
Hanover closed out the contest shooting just 30 percent from the floor and 15 percent from three-point, falling to the Lions 69-53.
Hanover returns to Collier Arena on Saturday when they welcome Earlham. Game time is set for 3:00 PM.
