HANOVER, Ind. - Hanover (8-12 overall) was able to take control early and never looked back, defeating Centre 10-2 on Sunday afternoon in game one before falling in game two 7-2.
GAME ONE
HOW IT HAPPENED The Panthers struck first, scoring two runs and setting the tone offensively in the first inning. They continued to apply the pressure in the second, scoring on key hits and Centre miscues to further extend the lead to 4-0.
A huge swing came in the third inning, when Hanover was able to break things open. With the bases loaded,
Morgan Bailey delivered a big double to right center, which allowed the panthers to score three runs and pushed the lead to 7-0.
Centre managed to respond later in the game, scoring two runs, but Hanover quickly answered and maintained control throughout the remainder of the game. The Panthers added insurance runs late, which led to the final margin of 10-2
Hanover was very patient at the plate as they tallied eight hits and drew eight walks, consistently putting runners on base. Bailey led the way with three RBI, while multiple players contributed to an overall balanced offensive effort.

GAME TWO
HOW IT HAPPENED Centre used a two run first inning to claim the lead early before the Panthers responded.
Savannah Riley got one run back for the Blue and Red in the bottom half of the inning before
Ally Crist tied the game in the next inning.

Despite the success, Centre used a big sixth inning, plating three runs, to secure the game two split 7-2.
