HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover softball team fell to conference opponent Transylvania, 8-1, on Tuesday in game one and 13-1 in game two.
GAME ONE
The Pioneers used a steady offensive attack, recording 16 hits and scoring in five different innings to take control early. Transylvania plated single runs in the second and third innings before breaking the game open with a three-run fourth inning to go ahead 4-0.
Hanover got on the board in the sixth, as sophomore
Addison Smith delivered an RBI double to left center to score freshman
Ally Crist and cut the deficit to 6-1. However, Transylvania added two more runs in the seventh to secure the win.

Sophomore
Lulu Van Beek took the loss in the circle, tossing 6.1 innings with five strikeouts, while sophomore
Alyssa Wheatley recorded the final two outs in relief.

Ashley Fulton each tallied a hit for the Panthers, with Crist scoring Hanover's lone run.

GAME TWO
The Pioneers used a big first inning to take early control, plating five runs behind a three-run home run from Raegan Gibson. Transylvania continued to add on with multiple runs in the third and fifth innings to extend its lead.
Hanover broke through in the second inning, as sophomore
Sydney Foy scored on a steal of home after
Ally Crist swiped second to cut the deficit to 5-1. However, the Panthers were unable to generate further offense, finishing with two hits in the contest.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
In the circle, freshman Chloe Leach took the loss, allowing five runs in the opening inning.
Ashley Fulton and
Alyssa Wheatley combined in relief for the Panthers.
Foy recorded Hanover's lone hit with a double, while Crist added a hit and scored the team's only run.
