Hanover Out Shoots Spalding Despite Setback

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Hanover fell 14-6 to Spalding on Saturday, dropping to 2-8 overall and 0-2 in Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Hanover came out sharp early, with Kaitlyn Madden opening the scoring and helping the Panthers stay competitive through the first half. After trailing 4-1 in the second quarter, Hanover responded with a three-goal run, highlighted by Julia Jarrells and Quinn Cherry.

Jarrells led Hanover offensively with two goals and one assist. Iyana Phelps added a strong all-around performance with a goal and an assist, while also contributing on the defensive end with ground balls and caused turnovers. Madden, Cherry, and Mallory Mahin each found the back of the net as well, with Mahin scoring late in the fourth quarter.

Defensively, Hanover forced 13 caused turnovers, with multiple players contributing to the pressure, but struggled to slow down Spalding's offense in the second half. Goalkeeper Emma Williams recorded three saves against a high volume of shots.

Hanover returns to action on Saturday, April 25 when they host Franklin for Senior Day.
