North Manchester, IN - Hanover (14-17, 9-8 HCAC) traveled to Manchester University (14-17, 7-9 HCAC) in hopes of sweeping the day, however the Panthers earned a key split dropping game one before winning the night cap.
GAME ONE
AT THE PLATE
The Panthers scored two runs over the course of three innings thanks to freshmam
Jack Shaeffer (West Lafayette, IN) and freshman
Michael Kirk (Loveland, OH). The final two run came in the top of the seventh inning.
ON THE BUMP
Senior
John Girard (Richmond, KY) got the start lasting five innings and striking out six. Sophomore
Dylan Lloyd (Colerain, OH) closed out the last three innings allowing no hits and two strikeouts.
GAME TWO
AT THE PLATE
Hanover opened the contest scoring three runs through three innings with Kirk pacing the scoring.
A late game surge allowed them to score eleven more runs over the course of four innings including a five spot in the seventh inning. Senior
Josh Simpson (Bardstown, KY) accounted for three of those runs with one of them being a two run home run.
ON THE BUMP
Sophomore
Wyatt Colvin (Prospect, KY) was tasked with the start striking out two lasting five innings. Simpson closed out the last four innings giving up only one run and striking out four.
Hanover will travel to Crawfordsville, IN to take on Wabash College on April 23. Game time is set for 4:30 PM.
