HANOVER, Ind. – The Panthers defeated Franklin 6-1 in the opening round of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament on Tuesday afternoon at the Zeddies Tennis Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Hanover captured the doubles point as the Panthers swept all three for the early 1-0 advantage.
The no. 1 doubles team of
Annamarie Stogsdill and
Hailey Vandeventer won 6-3.
At no. 2 doubles,
Madelyn Santner and
Savannah Heist secured the 6-3 win.
Rounding out doubles play was the no. 3 team of
Maya Kett and
Mia Silvey winning 6-4.
In singles play, Stogsdill swept the afternoon winning no. 1 singles 6-2, 6-0.
The winning continued for the Blue and Red as Santner won a tie breaking set 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8).
Vandeventer also secured the sweep at no. 3 singles before her teammate, Heist won a battle at no. 4 singles.
Kett rounded out the singles victories at no. 5 with a 6-3, 6-3 decision.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday when they take on Rose-Hulman in the Semifinals of the HCAC Tournament.
