HANOVER, Ind. – The Panthers will host Animal Shelter Day welcoming no. 17 ranked Hope to Alumni Stadium.
The local animal shelter will be accepting donations on Saturday in the form of non-clumping clay cat litter, puppy or kitten soft food, pin-sol original scent, dog and cat dry kibble, treats for dogs, and monetary donations. The Jefferson County Animal Shelter will be setup in the tailgate lot prior to kickoff.
DRESS ACCORDINGLY
Hanover will be hosting a BLUE OUT with the team wearing blue tops and blue pants and hope you will join them in "Blue Out Alumni Stadium."
LAST TIME HANOVER STARTED 3-0
The last 3-0 start for the Panthers came in 2023, prior to that (excluding Covid spring season) the last time Hanover started the season undefeated was in 2002 when they won 10 straight.
GAME TWO AT MARYVILLE
Senior
Eian Roudebush put on a dominate performance in week two throwing for 244 yards with two passing touchdowns. He also showed off his foot speed, rushing for 59 yards with two additional touchdowns.
Junior
Clark Rexroat was his top target, hauling in three receptions for 89 yards, including a 74 yard hookup.
Defensively, junior
Brian Wall was a force with a team-high nine total tackles, four solo stops, and 1.5 tackles for loss.
Junior
Hosia Smith secured eight stops and one forced fumble which he returned four yards for a touchdown.
NATIONALLY RANKED HOPE
The Flying Dutchmen enter the weekend ranked no. 17 and 2-0 overall after defeating Wisconsin-Stevens Point, 38-10.
Hope generated 466 total yards of offense, 267 yards coming on the ground. Leading the effort was Brody Schulteman with 121 yards rushing and four touchdowns. AJ Martel rushed for 99 yards and one score.
Nolan Vis paced the defensive effort making eight tackles, seven solo stops, and one tackle for loss.
HCAC LEADER
The Panther defense leads the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in fewest yards per game (260.5) allowed, and fewest passing yards (282) thrown by over 100 yards.
Sophomore
Cole Shively is tied for first in protecting the airways with two interceptions for 21 yards.
THE LEAGUE OPENER
Hanover will open HCAC play on Saturday, Oct. 3 when they welcome Mount St. Joseph to Alumni Stadium.
