FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Hanover Panthers (3-2-3 overall, 1-0 HCAC) opened Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play with a win at Franklin, 5-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers put together a dominate offensive performance, winning 5-1. The opening half saw Hanover break through in the 36 th minute when senior
John Azzara found the back of the net off an assist from freshman
Arlyn Trevor Bolte, giving Hanover a 1-0 advantage heading into halftime.
Franklin knotted the contest early in the second half, scoring in the 46 th minute before the Panthers answered. Freshman
Blake Koch put Hanover back in front with a clen-up in the 55 th minute.
Hanover continued to apply pressure and extended its lead in the 73rd minute when sophomore
Kunal Chawla converted a penalty kick, pushing the Panthers ahead 3-1.
Just over three minutes later, Azzara struck again to record his second goal of the afternoon, giving Hanover a 4-1 advantage in the 76th minute.
The Panthers capped the scoring in the 85th minute when junior
Andrew Pavlisko found the back of the net to make it a 5-1 contest.
