FRANKLIN, Ind. - Hanover (5-3-1 overall, 1-0 HCAC) opened Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon defeating rival Franklin 2-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 After a scoreless opening half, the Panthers broke through in the 59th minute. Freshman
Abby Smith connected with freshman
Lyla Jacobs, who finished the opportunity to give Hanover a 1-0 advantage.

Jacobs found the back of the net just 16 minutes later. The freshman pushed the advantage to 2-0 in the 76th minute to carry the Panthers to the 2-0 victory.

INSIDE THE STATS
Hanover controlled the offensive action as they outshot Franklin 19-0, including 11 of which landed on frame.

Jacobs paced the offense with two goals on four total shots.

Hanover returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 3 when they travel to Rose-Hulman.
