Hop Hopkins returned to Hanover in January of 2024 as the men's lacrosse Assistant Coach and Offensive Coordinator under the direction of Head Coach Michelangelo Butturi ('16). Hopkins, a 2021 graduate of HC, will return for the 2026Â season, while also serving as the Assistant Athletic Communication and Media Coordinator.
In 2024, their first season together as a staff, Butturi and Hopkins were able to lead Hanover to an 8-9 overall record (4-1 HCLC), finishing second in the HCLC, with seven All-HCLC honors including three First-Team selections.
The alumni coaching duo lead the Panthers an 11-4 overall record (3-1 in the HCLC) in 2025, and earned seven all-conference honors including the HCLC Defensive Player of the year, Scott Dues. Their 2025 season ended with a trip to the HCLC conference championship for the second consecutive season.
Prior to returning to Hanover, Coach Hopkins spent three years in Indianapolis, IN where he served as the Offensive Coordinator at Lawrence North High School for two seasons, and North Central High School for one.Â
Hopkins had a four-year playing career at Hanover College where he played one season under Head Coach Skip Lichtfuss, and three seasons under Head Coach Jeff Roberts.
